While review and feedback sites can sometimes be open to abuse – and some creative reviewing – they continue to grow in popularity as a valuable aid to choosing anything from books to holidays, or from health insurance to local doctors.
That is why it is so important for us to make a point of reviewing products and services that we ourselves have used, whether we liked it or hated it. Good objective reviews can be so useful in helping to form an opinion on which hotel to book or which dentist to use.
It is best to make sure that you write a short concise review for as many products and services as you can. Try to keep it short, as there are lots of reviews that are full of waffle or tell more about the reviewer's life than the actual product which are always a bore. Ask yourself, what are the points that you loved about it and what did you not like so much? Would you buy it again? And did it live up to its marketing claims?
Decide what the most important factors in buying that product or service is and comment on these. Are you likely to buy a certain kettle for reliability or for the price? Is your main motivation in choosing a particular hotel down to the location or the facilities?
Although many people put off writing reviews or giving feedback on products or services, it is a very valuable experience, at least for the person reading what you have written. If you think about it, we all quite often read reviews to ensure that we are not duped or stung in some way - so by taking a few minutes to write a valid review, we can help others out too which is greatly appreciated by many would-be purchasers!
